For over 100 years, Temple has provided members and visitors with a world of unparalleled beauty, inspiration, character and all in an uncrowded setting.
The chalk downland course was designed by the 1887 and 1889 Open Champion Willie Park Jr. and to this day the spirit of his 'inland links' course is maintained. With stunning views over Marlow and the Thames Valley providing a picturesque backdrop for the challenging 18 holes of golf.
Temple is a progressive club and mixes 100 years of history with a modern approach to membership. Lifestyle membership at Temple offers an affordable, flexible, inclusive and family-friendly membership for today's golfer. In addition and for those who enjoy competition golf, many of our weekday and weekend competitions are open to ladies and men.

“Apart from the weather (a minor consideration despite the incessant rain which gradually increased towards the end of the round) this was a great day. The course was fantastic and the greens were in great condition despite the rain. The Secretary and all the staff were very accommodating to the point that coffee and biscuits were delivered to the changing room after the round – a welcome sight to 15 bedraggled golfers. The meal and setting was one of the best we have enjoyed and it was unanimously agreed to come again in the summer when good weather could be anticipated!”
Richard Jones – The London Stationers GS – June 2019
“Francis, I just wanted to say thank you for the Mother’s Day lunch last Sunday. Firstly for squeezing us in at the last minute but also for how welcome you made my parents feel. They really enjoyed the Temple experience – you put them entirely at ease and also delivered an exceptional service. In fact, my mum has already informed me that we will be attending again next year!”
Darren Damiano – March 2019
“In the very short time we have been members, we have really enjoyed our golf and the very friendly and welcoming atmosphere of the Club. We invited a few guests from the Midlands recently and they also liked the friendliness of the staff in the bar and were very impressed with the condition of the course & greens. Looking forward to a long and enjoyable future at Temple and I am certain it will improve my golf in the long term. “
Steve Smith (New Bronze member) – May 2018
“Thank you so much for everything at the AGM last Sunday and all Temple does for Archie and Finlay. They were both very chuffed with their amazing crystal trophies. They did not know so it was a lovely surprise. They were over the moon. Send my thanks to everyone and see you hopefully next week at skills in the course. Many thanks Emma”
Emma Smith (Mother of junior members Archie and Finlay Creffield) – November 2017
“Just to say how much we all enjoyed our lunch at Temple today. The food was very tasty, very well presented and won praise from everyone – very well done Liam. And the service was excellent, winning similar plaudits from us all – very well done Francis. I will have no hesitation in recommending Temple as a venue to anyone seeking to hold a similar party.”
Bob Eagle – March 2018
” Dear Keith (and all staff) – can I just say on behalf of BCLGA a very big “Thank You” to yourself and all your staff for a very successful AGM on last night (Wed 15 Jan 2020). The AGM went very well with quite a good turnout despite the weather forecast. The staff at Temple were excellent, attentive and made everyone very welcome. It really is a pleasure to come to Temple Golf Club. Please convey my appreciation to them all.
