For over 100 years, Temple has provided members and visitors with a world of unparalleled beauty, inspiration, character and all in an uncrowded setting.
The chalk downland course was designed by the 1887 and 1889 Open Champion Willie Park Jr. and to this day the spirit of his 'inland links' course is maintained. With stunning views over Marlow and the Thames Valley providing a picturesque backdrop for the challenging 18 holes of golf.
Temple is a progressive club and mixes 100 years of history with a modern approach to membership. Lifestyle membership at Temple offers an affordable, flexible, inclusive and family-friendly membership for today's golfer. In addition and for those who enjoy competition golf, many of our weekday and weekend competitions are open to ladies and men.

“Please pass my thanks and congratulations to everyone who contributed to the Temple Children’s Xmas party on Saturday. My grandson Ethan had a whale of a time as did the rest of the children as far as I could see. No dramas, no tears, just a group of children (and adults) having a really good time. The format was just right allowing the kids to express themselves without getting carried away. Catering and service, as ever, very good.”
Ken Harris – December 2018
“Hi Keith, many thanks to the members for letting us play at Temple, especially on a Saturday. It is such a welcoming club and Francis and Patrick were as wonderful as ever!! Penny also turned up to make sure we were OK and was also very helpful. We all enjoyed playing and the course was in fab condition. You couldn’t do anything with the weather I know! Again, many thanks for the use of the course and the help provided by the staff on Saturday.”
Charlie Keenan (Berkshire Ladies 2nd Team Captain) – May 2018
“Francis, I just wanted to say thank you for the Mother’s Day lunch last Sunday. Firstly for squeezing us in at the last minute but also for how welcome you made my parents feel. They really enjoyed the Temple experience – you put them entirely at ease and also delivered an exceptional service. In fact, my mum has already informed me that we will be attending again next year!”
Darren Damiano – March 2019
“Just to say how much the Temple Squash group enjoyed its recent visit. The golfers thought the course continues to improve and is now a delight to play. The food and service were much appreciated – to the extent that we wish to return next year! Thanks to everyone once again.”
Bob Eagle – September 2018
“Thank you so much for everything at the AGM last Sunday and all Temple does for Archie and Finlay. They were both very chuffed with their amazing crystal trophies. They did not know so it was a lovely surprise. They were over the moon. Send my thanks to everyone and see you hopefully next week at skills in the course. Many thanks Emma”

” Dear Keith (and all staff) – can I just say on behalf of BCLGA a very big “Thank You” to yourself and all your staff for a very successful AGM on last night (Wed 15 Jan 2020). The AGM went very well with quite a good turnout despite the weather forecast. The staff at Temple were excellent, attentive and made everyone very welcome. It really is a pleasure to come to Temple Golf Club. Please convey my appreciation to them all.

“We wanted to say thank you very much to you and the whole team at Temple for allowing us hold Grace’s christening reception at the Club on Saturday 8 February. The welcome everyone received was fantastic and all of the guests were amazed by the room and views. I would recommend hosting events at the Club to anyone. Also, please pass on our thanks to Liam for putting on some great food. And to Francis for all his help and being so accommodating. We really enjoyed the day.”

Nigel Kenyon (Member) – February 2018
“Hi Keith, Thanks again for yesterday. I forgot to say that I have trouble recalling when I have played out of a/ so many bunkers and b/ how consistent they were. In my view they were just the right depth, great quality of sand and a joy to be in which is very very rare. Congratulations to you all and please pass it on if appropriate – my comment is based on many years of experience as a PGA Professional Golfer and Club Manager.”
